CONSENT AGENDA:


6. Approval of May 6, 2026, regular meeting minutes as published in the Official Journal.


7. Payment of the May 2026 bills as approved by the Claims Committee.


8. Request from the Fireworks for Lake Claiborne, in a letter dated June 1, 2026, requesting the Parish’s annual support in the amount of $1,000 and requesting to be included in the 2027 budget for the same amount. This is the same as the previous year.


9. Request from Town of Haynesville, in a letter dated May 18, 2026, requesting help from the CPPJ Hwy Department for various items – which include removal of a tree from the Haynesville Golf, Course, and delivery of one (1) load of SB2 to the Town’s Shop on Spring Street. All work will be performed under the Town’s ad valorem tax credit.


10. Request from the Town of Homer, in a letter dated May 21, 2026, requesting two (2) loads of cold mix. The work will be performed under the Town’s ad valorem tax credit.


11. Request from the Town of Homer, in a letter dated June 4, 2026, (also via verbal request) requesting help with the replacement of a collapsed concrete culvert on Edgewood Drive in front of the Claiborne Parish Library’s west entrance. The work will be performed under the Town’s ad valorem tax credit.


REGULAR AGENDA:


12. Reminder – one (1) hour of ethics training is required to be completed by December 31, 2026, for all Jurors and Parish Employees. - https://laethics.net/EthicsTraining/login.aspx


13. Reminder – one (1) hour of Sexual Harassment Training is required to be completed by December 31, 2026, by all Parish Employees – Department Heads and Jury Officers have a two (2) hour training requirement. - https://www.lma.org/LMA/LMA/Programs/Online_Training.aspx

15. Recognition of Mrs. Rosalind Penegar, Claiborne Parish DART Rural Advocate, for receiving The Spirit of Louisiana Congressional Award from Speaker of the House Mike Johnson for her work with DART.


16. Invitation from Town of Haynesville Mayor Roderick Hampton to the LMA District B meeting on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Fair Barn in Haynesville.


17. Thank You from CMMC to the Jury for supporting their employees during the Hospital Week activities.


18. Request from Secretary-Treasurer Dwayne R. Woodard to re-appoint The Guardian Journal as the Official Journal of the Claiborne Parish Police Jury for the period July 1, 20026, through June 30, 2027, since it is the only qualifying weekly publication in operation in the Parish and the only publication that meets the requirements as defined by LA R.S. 43:150 and LA R.S. 43:174


19. Notice is hereby given that the Claiborne Parish Policy Jury will ADOPT the 2026 ad valorem tax millages for ALL FUNDS on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Jury Chambers of the CPPJ Administration Building located at 507 West Main Street in Homer, LA 71040.


20. Resolution 2026-010 – A Resolution Approving the Holding of an Election in the Claiborne Parish Sales Tax District No. 2 on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to authorize the levy of a sales and use tax therein.


21. Notice of Special Election – NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special election will be held within the District on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2026, and that at the said election there will be submitted to all registered voters in the District qualified and entitled to vote at the said election under the Constitution and Laws of the State of Louisiana and the Constitution of the United States, the following proposition, to-wit


22. Resolution 2026-011 – A Resolution Authorizing the President, Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer to sign documents on behalf of the Claiborne Parish Police Jury concerning the transmittal of the 2025 Audited Financial Statements and AUPs.


23. Request from Claiborne Parish Fire Protection District No. 4, in a letter received on June 5, 2026, requesting that the Jury appoint Mr. Gary Smith to fill the vacant seat due to the death of Mr. Raymond Hollenshead.


24. Request from the Claiborne Parish Communications District, in a letter received on June 5, 2026, to appoint Haynesville Chief of Police Anthony Smith to replace Mr. U.D. Logan of Haynesville.


25. Letter received on May 26, 2026, from Mr. Stanley M. Sullivan of 161 Buck Green Road, requesting that the Police Jury consider lowering the current 35 mph speed limit to at least 30 mph due to the abundance of heavy trucks on Buck Green Road.


26. Resolution 2026-012 – Certificate of Claiborne Parish Evidencing Public Approval of Bonds Pursuant to CAFA for the Down Payment Assistance Program


27. CPPJ Hwy Department Hardship Request from Mr. Nathan Smart of 2542 Old Arcadia Road, Minden La for help with repairs to his driveway.
